Welcome to my blog! My name is Abhrottha Roy (Addy), and I’m a high school junior from Massachusetts with a passion for Mechanical Engineering. Ever since I was young, I’ve been curious about how things work - from everyday objects like bicycles and mechanical pencils to larger systems like engines and renewable energy technologies.

This summer, I had the opportunity to attend the ImpactLab at Wentworth Institute of Technology, where I explored the “Nuts & Bolts of Mechanical Engineering.” I rebuilt a car motor, learned about material strength and design trade-offs, and even got to work with a jet engine. That experience confirmed what I already suspected: engineering isn’t just about theory, it’s about building, testing, and problem-solving in ways that make a real impact.

Through this blog, I’ll be sharing my journey as a student and aspiring engineer. Some posts will highlight projects I’ve worked on, while others will explore ideas in renewable energy, design, and technology that I find exciting. My hope is to create a space where I can document what I’m learning, reflect on new experiences, and connect my curiosity with the bigger challenges facing our world.

Thanks for stopping by - I’m just getting started, but I’m excited to see where this journey takes me. Stay tuned for more!
